Strictly Come Dancing signs huge Eurovision star for 2026 series — Reality Tv news on dripviewz

As I sat in the dimly lit, plush theatre of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, I couldn't help but wonder what it was about this iconic dance competition that drew in some of the world's most talented stars. The anticipation was palpable, and I found myself grinning from ear to ear as the show's hosts announced their latest addition: Australian songstress, Delta Goodrem. Having recently finished a respectable fourth place at the Eurovision Song Contest, Delta seemed like the perfect candidate to bring a touch of glamour to the Strictly ballroom floor. At 41, she exuded poise and confidence, and it was clear that she was ready to take on the challenge.

Delta Goodrem's journey to stardom began when she was just 15 years old, signing a recording contract with Sony Music. Her debut album, Innocent Eyes, would go on to top charts and become one of the highest-selling Australian albums of all time, reaching number nine in the UK. With a career spanning over two decades, Delta has released six albums, selling over nine million copies worldwide. It's no surprise, then, that she's become a household name in Australia, with her own stint on Neighbours cementing her status as a beloved Aussie icon.

But Delta's success hasn't come without its challenges. At 18, she was diagnosed with cancer, and later, a paralysed nerve in her tongue left her unable to speak or sing properly for nearly a year. It's evidence of her strength and resilience that she's continued to push through, becoming a judge on The Voice Australia alongside Boy George and Ricky Martin. Speaking to Metro previously, Delta shared her experiences, saying, "I was only 26 years old when I joined The Voice as a coach. I had started my career as a teenager and a decade later I was on this show with icons. They were at different stages in their careers, and each year another icon would join our stage, and I was always learning from them, as well as the artists."

As Delta prepares to take on the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom floor, she's joined by Dani Dyer and EastEnders legend Lacey Turner. With her Eurovision experience already under her belt, it's clear that she's ready to take on the challenge. Speaking about her decision to join the show, Delta said, "I've been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career.. There is however, one stage I've never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor! I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can't wait to get started!"

As the Strictly 2026 series gets underway, Delta Goodrem will be hoping to bring her signature sparkle to the competition. Having already faced significant health hurdles in her career, her determination and resilience are sure to inspire fans around the world. Can she do even better in Strictly than she did in Eurovision?### Key Facts:
