Editorial Policy
How we approach what we publish.
dripviewz covers the creator economy with a Nigerian foundation and a global perspective. We follow the people, platforms, and economics shaping content work, from Lagos to Los Angeles. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to.
What we cover
Our focus areas are music, film and television, comedy, podcasting, and the social platforms where creators build their audiences and businesses. We report on the people doing the work, the platforms that host them (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Twitch, Spotify, and others), the deals and contracts that shape their careers, and the broader cultural and economic shifts in how content gets made and monetised.
What we value
Accuracy. We aim to get the facts right the first time. When we don't, we correct the record promptly and visibly.
Independence. Our editorial decisions are not for sale. We do not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage, and we do not allow advertisers, sponsors, or commercial partners to influence what we publish.
Fairness. We try to represent perspectives accurately. When our coverage touches a specific creator, company, or organisation, we aim to be fair to them and, where appropriate, give them an opportunity to respond.
Clarity. We write for readers who have lives outside our publication. Jargon, hedging, and bloat make stories harder to read. We try to skip them.
Relevance to African creators. We are based in Nigeria, and our coverage prioritises the questions our region's creators are actually asking. We pay attention to global developments because they shape the local market, but we do not treat Africa as a footnote.
Sourcing and attribution
Where our reporting draws on the work of other publications, we link to the original sources. Our Deep Dives section explicitly cites the source material informing each analytical piece. Our Recommended Reading is curated from publications we respect, with full attribution and links out.
Corrections
If a story contains an error of fact, write to us at dripviewz@gmail.com with the subject line "Correction." We will review the request, make the correction if warranted, and add a note to the article indicating what was changed and when.
Sponsored content and partnerships
Any sponsored content, partnerships, or paid placements will be clearly labelled as such and kept separate from editorial coverage. Editorial coverage is never contingent on a commercial relationship with the subject of a story.
Anonymous sources and sensitive coverage
When a story warrants the use of unnamed sources, we use them sparingly and only when the public interest of the information outweighs the cost of anonymity. We do not publish identifying details of private individuals who have not consented to public coverage.
Feedback
We want to hear from readers, including what we got right, what we missed, and what we should be covering. Send a note to dripviewz@gmail.com.
