Lil Uzi Vert Proves They Can't Be Duplicated With Frenetic Headlining Performance at Summer Smash 2026: 'New Album on the Way'

Look, when Hot 97's Ebro Darden said in 2016 that Lil Uzi Vert wouldn't last in the rap game, I think a lot of us thought that was the real deal. But fast-forward to 2026 and Uzi is still standing, still rocking that rockstar status with performances that show they've got longevity on lock.
On June 12th, Lil Uzi Vert took to the main stage at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash 2026 in Bridgeview, Illinois. Around 10:25 p.m. CT, the Philly native apologized to the 50,000 fans for being late, telling them, "Sorry I'm late, I had to jump off the jet." The crowd was already going wild, chanting his name, and the always fashionable Uzi delivered. Dressed in a white Gucci long-sleeve top with green and red stripes, a matching backpack, Prada sneakers, and a furry fox tail accessory, Uzi gave the crowd a show.
When Lil Uzi Vert took the stage, it felt like a WWE wrestler gearing up for WrestleMania. The fireworks, the love from the crowd, the aura of Michael Jackson crossed with Lil Wayne's je ne sais quoi, Uzi was moving like nobody's business. They kicked off the set with an unreleased track, then ran through fan-favorites like POP, 444+222, and Aye. But what really stood out was when they channeled back to the nostalgia of early fan-favorites like Do What I Want and Money Longer.
At one point, Lil Uzi took note of a fan rocking their spiked hair and pink American flag jacket look from The Pink Tape cover art, and essentially demanded that they come on stage. The fan, Mars, raged with Uzi on stage and even got on the receiving end of a headbutt from the Philadelphia native. It's like Uzi found their own version of Burberry Erry for a few minutes. But what really got to me was when Uzi brought out the styrofoam cup for XO TOUR Llif3 and poured some out for the homies no longer with us. They gave a shout-out to those who are gone, and it just showed how connected they are with their fans.
After the show, Lil Uzi Vert dropped a bombshell: a new album is on the way. I don't know what it means for the rap game, but I do know that Uzi is here to stay. They've proven that they're not just a one-hit wonder, that they've got longevity on lock. And with a performance like this at Summer Smash 2026, I'm more than excited to see what's next for Lil Uzi Vert.
