It's a sweltering Lagos afternoon, the kind that makes you want to stay indoors with a cold drink and a good book. But Apostle Emmanuel Iren, Founder and Lead Pastor of Celebration Church International, is far from relaxing. He's busy getting ready for the church's annual Mid-Year Thanksgiving service, an occasion that marks two significant milestones for the ministry. Six months have passed since Celebration Church International moved into its first permanent global headquarters, Celebr8 Centre HQ on Vori Close, Lagos. And with a membership that has surpassed 30,000 across its global network, the church is celebrating a remarkable growth in just thirteen years since its founding in 2012.
Celebration Church International was born out of a single gathering in Lagos, with an ambitious vision to spread the Word of God across the globe. Today, it has grown into a global ministry with 55 campuses and 28 cell churches across Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia. The church's journey has been nothing short of remarkable, with a relentless drive towards building people, strengthening communities, and reaching cities. And now, with a permanent global headquarters, the church has taken a significant step towards solidifying its position as a major player in the global Christian community.
The Mid-Year Thanksgiving service was an occasion for reflection, gratitude, and looking ahead with renewed expectation. Apostle Iren took the opportunity to describe the milestones as an opportunity to reflect on the ministry's journey while remaining focused on its mission. "Thirteen years in, and what God has done is worth marking," he said. "But we are more interested in what He is about to do. It is a reason to thank forward with greater conviction." The church's theme for the year, The Ebenezer Year, is a deliberate focus on remembering God's faithfulness and expressing gratitude for His help. It's a theme that resonates deeply with the church's members, who have been a part of the journey from the very beginning.
As Celebration Church International looks to the future, it's clear that the work is far from over. The church has reaffirmed its continued focus on biblical teaching, discipleship, leadership development, and community outreach, which have remained central to its work since its founding. With a global network that spans multiple continents, the church is poised to reach even more people and communities. The upcoming Reboot Camp 2026, which will take place internationally in Toronto, Canada, and Lagos, Nigeria, is expected to bring together thousands of attendees from across the diaspora and around the world.
The Celebr8 Centre HQ is more than just a physical space, it's a home for the faithful. It's a place where dreams are birthed, where visions are shared, and where the community comes together to support one another. As Celebration Church International continues to grow and expand, it's clear that this is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the ministry's journey.
Celebration Church International's next major gathering, Reboot Camp 2026, will first take place internationally in Toronto, Canada, from 46 September, before returning to Lagos, Nigeria, for the main event from 36 December.
