Iron Maiden announce surprise 2027 North American tour
Iron Maiden’s newest tour dates burst onto the scene with the same thunderous energy that has defined the band for five decades.

Iron Maiden’s newest tour dates burst onto the scene with the same thunderous energy that has defined the band for five decades. On a crisp morning in Tacoma, the Tacoma Dome’s lights flickered to life as the crowd surged, and the first chords of “Run for Your Lives” rolled across the arena. The roar that followed was not just a welcome back; it was a promise that the band’s journey is far from over.
The surprise announcement came as the band wrapped up its 50th‑anniversary “Run For Your Lives” tour. The new leg will begin on April 14 in Tacoma and will weave through Vancouver, Portland, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, and more. The tour culminates with headline slots at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus on May 14 and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City on May 16. These final stops are billed as the last performances of the mammoth trek.
Bassist Steve Harris revealed that the original plan was to take 2027 off. Yet, after a run of electrifying shows in the U.S. And Canada, the band felt compelled to return. “We’ve been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed,” he said. “We can’t get everywhere but we can try!” The decision reflects a deep respect for fans in the North West and South East, regions the band had not fully covered in previous tours.
The band’s affinity for festivals is well documented. “Also, we have always enjoyed playing the many great festivals that are in Europe and wanted to experience a couple more in the USA,” Harris added. The final stops in Columbus and Maryland will see Iron Maiden headline two of the country’s most celebrated festivals, bringing the iconic “Eddie’s Dive Bars” experience to new audiences.
Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age will back Iron Maiden on the standalone dates, offering fans a full night of heavy‑metal fireworks. Tickets for the headline shows will go on general sale at 10 am local time on Friday, October 23, following an Iron Maiden Fan Club pre‑sale that starts at 10 am on Monday, October 19. Additional pre‑sales will run throughout the week, ensuring that die‑hard fans have multiple chances to secure seats.
The 2026 shows drew some of the biggest crowds the band has ever seen in North America, a fact that Manager Rod Smallwood highlighted in his Instagram post. “In fact it was so good we just have to come back and play some places we missed and bring Eddie’s Dive Bars with us!” he said. The enthusiasm of the crowd, the sheer scale of the venues, and the band’s willingness to revisit overlooked cities all point to a legacy that is still very much alive.
