About this role

Shopware is a leading e-commerce system that enables businesses worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce.

As a pioneering open source solution, Shopware is already used by some of the largest European brands, retailers and manufacturers in the B2C and B2B sectors.

We are looking for a Principal Platform Engineer (m/f/d) to build and operate our Data Platform – the infrastructure for data acquisition, storage and runtime environments on which all data pipelines at Shopware run.

You are responsible for their architecture and reliability: from CDC data acquisition to a three-tiered data lake to the orchestration platform.

Your work allows service teams and management to better understand our customers and products.

At the same time, you create the technical basis for actually enforcing data governance and compliance requirements.

You work closely with Data & AI, which develops data pipelines on the platform you operate.

In the Service Enablement Team, you ensure that the same Golden Paths and quality standards apply to the Data Platform as to the rest of the Service Platform.

The position is an experienced professional career without personnel responsibility.

It is important that you enjoy working with many stakeholders, colleagues and partners.

You communicate securely to management and proactively address conflicting goals and risks, rather than waiting to be asked about them.

You communicate clearly and directly in writing and can represent and justify technical positions towards engineering colleagues as well as non-technical stakeholders.

Open culture, flat hierarchies, self-initiative is promoted.
